Concrete Polishing Features
Black Diamond® Process
Polishing concrete is not much different than sanding a hard-wood floor. But instead of sanding, a heavy grinding machine equiped with diamond abrasive grits, grinds and smooths the concrete. Continued grinding with a series of finer diamond grits, hones and polishes the concrete to an almost marble-like sheen. Diamond grinding and polishing concrete floors is a time consuming, labor intensive and physically aggressive process. But the transformational end result – a beautiful looking floor after the final polishing step – is truly gratifying. However, what you’re looking at, while very smooth and shiny, is a floor that is still very porous and weak. Here is where the Black Diamond® process takes your floor to another level!
A liquid treatment of Black Diamond® Cleaner and Conditioner, when applied after the final polishing steps, restores and strengthens the surface finish of the original floor. Black Diamond® Cleaner and Conditioner is a water-based and has an apple scent and does not form a sacrificial surface film like thin film coatings, waxes or treatments which you may be familiar with. That means that a Black Diamond® floor will not scratch, chip, peel or discolor with use over time. This important step ensures for the long term, your floor’s performance, low maintenance and attractive visual appeal. You will benefit from the very limited amount of time that a section of floor will be "off limits" to normal traffic (usually only a few hours). |
